Michael Feinberg’s Blues Variant is an exploration of global groove and melody in search of the meaning of the blues. Heralded by critics and audiences across the globe Feinberg’s 9th album and debut for the famed Criss Cross records, has been described as having “plenty of that of that Elvin/Coltrane DNA as well as pop like lyricism that brings a refreshing accessibility” Presto Music
Raised in Atlanta Feinberg’s first professional experience came at 17 years old when he held the bass chair of trumpeter Russell Gunn’s quartet until he left for the University of Miami. Upon graduation Feinberg relocated to New York City where he lives today and works with a who’s who of the modern jazz scene.
Previous recordings and performances have featured Dave Liebman, Billy Hart, Jon Batiste, Ambrose Akinmusire, Domi, Randy Brecker, Lee Ritenour, George Garzone, Louis Cole and Melissa Aldana to name a few.

Joining Feinberg’s quartet is a newly assembled version of Blues Variant featuring legendary drummer Jeff Tain Watts, piano virtuoso Benito Gonzalez (Pharoah Sanders, Kenny Garret), and Blue Note recording artist Logan Richardson.
